Livestock Auction sounds

Late morning spent at the livestock auctions at Holsworthy. Great experience as the auctioneer goes through his rhythmic patter.

An example of the sounds from the auction can be found here:

Many thanks to Kivells for allowing me to record  during the auction.

Bucks Mills Recordings

A cold day down the beach but some opportunities to record sounds of the beach. With the issues of lack of wind shield, recordings were not perfect. They did improve when I borrowed my girlfriends hat to put over the top of the  microphone but still not perfect.

I did mange to capture this little fella for a few seconds.

Results can be founds here on the Organik Reflektion Soundcloud page.

Sound Happenings....

The problem with recording sounds outdoors is the wind factor. No, not the dodgy curry I had the night before but the wind gain and at the moment in North Devon there is a fair amount of this! To overcome this, a wind shield is required on a microphone or as I have reliably been informed is also called a Doogal after the Magic Roundabout's character!

I am using a small Zoom H1 hand recorder for the recordings. So I have now purchased a 'doogal' which will hopefully improve the quality of sounds out in the open.

However, today is a still day so there will a visit to the local beach is in order to see if I can get some nice wave sounds.

New sounds for next week will be church bells and a trip to the livestock auctions!

Organik Reflektion gets under way

First blog to announce the start of Organik Reflektion.

Organik Refektion is the side project of Martin Eve aka 4th Eden and is all about the recordings of organic sounds and atmospheres.

In the coming weeks, there will be recordings made and these will be published on the Organik Reflektion's Soundcloud page.

This will culminate in a series of sound installation events to happen in the spring.
